Tinker's Trail Now Open!

Tinker Day a Big Success!

The dedication of Tinker's Trail marked the official grand opening of Bike St. Lucia's Jungle Biking™ Adventure! Nearly 60 people from St. Lucia, the US and Europe were in attendance including Tinker's business manager, and mom, Rose Juarez, and Joe Arcovio Director of Cannondale's International Division. The day was picture perfect with lots of sunshine while white puffy clouds popped out in relief from the intense blue Caribbean sky.

The day began with the arrival of guests by boat to Anse Mamin. Tinker was on hand to greet them. Everyone who wanted to ride was geared up with Cannondale's F800 bikes, Bell helmets and given a complimentary Jungle Biking™/Volvo-Cannondale Moutnain Bike Racing team water bottle. Tinker led the way with 25-30 bikers in tow around Bike St. Lucia's basic circuit.

In addition to still photographers, Carib Film's crew was present with an assortment of video cameras to record the days activities. They started by shooting with Tinker before the guests arrived and followed the days events through to their completion in mid-afternoon.

When the riders had completed their ride with Tinker, the main event of the day took place. It was the placing of Tinker's Bell on top of Tinker's Trail. Again 30 brave hearts made the 30 minute ascent to the top of the 900 foot mount. The view is absolutely spectacular, as you can see from our photos. Tinker rode his bike up while taking the bell's clapper up with him.

The official ceremony was held when everyone made it to the top. Bike's St. Lucia's Michael Allard, held the bell while Tinker attached the clapper. They placed the bell onto its stand, and Tinker officially rang the bell for the very first time.

Tinker addressed the group as did Joe Arcovio from Cannondale. Everyone had the opportunity to have their photo taken with Tinker on this historic moment. Once finished, everyone headed back down the hill for a spectacular bar-be-que lunch served at the bike facility.

After lunch, Tinker was given a plaque in appreciation for his help with Tinker's Trail as well as for his dedication and personal example in mountain biking. It was a great day, surely to be remembered by all who attended.
